How could it be better than book one?
I was surprised, myself. Ms. Scarlett made me as giddy as a kid on Christmas day!
This book is, as the blurb states, the sequel to Vein of Love.
So, we get more of Molly and Tensley. We see their growth, as individuals and as a couple.
Big win and major kudos to Ms. Scarlett for succeeding in keeping me glued to my reading device and then cussing at the ending - even though I'm in luck and won't have to wait that long!
You'll be torn; you'll have to take sides.
Feels. It has many feels! And hot scenes - after all, there's only so much temptation our demon could resist.

I am so addicted to this story that I can't stop reading. Book two was FANTASTIC and even better than book 1. I probably don't even sound coherent now as I am typing this uber fast so I can jump on book three. But I loved Tensley and Molly and can't get enough of their addiction to each other and all the drama surrounding them.
I loved the second book and cannot read fast enough. What happens when a dangerous and dark demon begins to do the one thing that can only lead to his demise? What you may ask? He is beginning to FEEL. Tensley's Dolchezza has burrowed herself in his dead and dormant heart and as he fights his growing feelings, threats and secrets come to the surface trying to keep them apart. GAH!!! I am addicted and legit have book three ready at my fingertips to continue this epic binge read. Bravo! 5 stars!!! ~Ratula
** spoiler alert ** This book just keeps getting better and better! I would consider this book to be more of a "getting to know each other." Tensely and Molly finally accept their fate and wants to get to know one another. With each passing day, Tensely internal battle with himself grows. His feelings for Molly are complicating matters. He doesn't want to have affection for her, but he can't help it. I loved the fact that he puts Molly first. He wants her to have as much freedom as possible and not have his world overshadow hers. Molly is stronger in this book and is more understanding. She really is a great female character because she knows her issues and tries to improve them. She stands on her two feet and puts on a brave face and I admire that.
A lot of twist and drama in this book. When I say drama I'm referring to these two never catching a break. Just when you think they can have a little calm................ BAM! Someone or something is revealed and everything is going to crap. I did yell "oh come on!!" a few times as I was reading. My emotions was being played with.
I must say that Ilsa is the best friend that every person should have. He is a great balance to Tensely's stubborn personality. I never had questioned his motives they were always innocent.
I was really impressed with Vein of Love and didn’t really think that R. Scarlett could top that first book but boy did she. Body of the Crime is amazing! I couldn’t stop reading and my mind revolved around Tensley and Molly constantly. I was and still am in a Knight/Darling bubble. What really made me love Body of the Crime is the character arcs of Molly and Tensley. What a transformation Molly goes through. From a naive young woman to a strong warrior goddess. She fights for what she wants and that’s Tensley. She isn’t ashamed of what she is but uses it as a strength. To her advantage. Tensley’s arc is incredible too. He’s a demon but still very much a human and doesn’t hide either side from Molly. He tries so hard to fight his beast side and his desire for Molly. Their chemistry is out of this world and gave me tingles.
R. Scarlett kept surprising me throughout this story with twists and turns. It’s a thrilling and entertaining ride and I don’t want to get off. Blackest Gold is definitely one of my favorite PNR series I’ve ever read and this was only book 2.

I could not put this book down and now I'm upset with myself because I have to wait a few days until the next one comes out. That being said, this book does end on a bit of a cliffhanger...aka a pretty <b> BIG</b> one!
Body of the Crime picks up right where Vein of Love ends. You see that Molly is more determined to fix her screw ups with Tensley and they continue to grow closer to each other. I loved getting to see the development between them and they started to understand each other better. I feel that they both still need to communicate better and if they did they would basically rule the underworld. But a lot of what they need to overcome is the understanding of each others culture and how to make their relationship work within the boundaries, even if just in public vs how they are in private.
Tensley and Molly are still both struggling with trust too. This creates most of the drama between their relationship. I will say that towards the end when Molly chooses to be honest with Tensley vs. lie <spoiler> Gabel's death </spoiler> was a major step for her, even knowing he would loose his cool with her.
I think a lot less stress would be on Tensley too if they could have the rat within the ranks that is revealing secrets to those outside the Scorpios group. I feel like Evelyn could be behind some of that drama and is secretly working with someone to get back at Tensley for dropping her for Molly. I'm also curious who the High ranking demon is trying to get Molly is and how her being in Paris will play out.
I will be impatiently waiting (~48 hours) for the next book. Not going to lie this book was written better than the first (not saying the first way back but just needed some more polishing) with development and writing wise. That to me can all be overlooked because the author is new and I know books generally get better with more books released. That being said, I'm really looking forward to more books from her because I can see her becoming one of my favorite authors!
I would recommend this series, especially if you like paranormal since it has such an interesting twist to the demon world.
