I usually talk about characterizations, plot, locale, and pacing when I review a book. Unfortunately, this one has weaknesses in many of these areas. Even so, I loved reading it. I'm not sure why I enjoy Ms Sheldon's work so much, I just do. I've read many of her other books, and I plan to read all I can get my hands on. Despite the weaknesses, it's an enjoyable way to spend time with a gentle set of loving friends. It's hard to do better than that.Product details

Boring, tedious. I had a hard time plodding through it. Don't waste your time. I was hoping the bad guys would prevail in the end.
Didn't care for it.
well-defined and interesting. The plot was occasionally easy to lose but I managed to find it with a bit of re-tracing.
Ms. Sheldon can be proud of her writing but might want to improve her editing. But please keep writing.
Other was just enough action and just enough excitement to make this a comfortable read. I enjoyed the historical information that was included to keep the plot moving along.
The book was OK. It skipped back and forth a lot. there were some parts of the story that just were not finished. I did finish it, but will not look for more books by this author.
I give Miss Sheldon credit for knowing her history and weaving it thoroughly into her story, but I grew a bit weary with the modern-day villan's preoccupation with the conquistadores and their hidden gold. The plot just seemed to be overly contrived.
The book was well written... The characters for the most part had depth... the only reason I have it 4 and not 5 is because I got a little confused on the two people actually trying to destroy the antagonist... I felt that it should have been left a little simple... But on the book as a whole, I would definitely recommend it as a good read...
